Some of these tips have proved to be useful when addressing this type of hair texture. Over washing, can cause the hair to appear dull and also strip the hair of all the important essential oils it needs to stay healthy and lustrous. Using a wide tooth comb also helps to separate the hair without unnecessary pulling and tugging, which damages hair. Try using a boar bristle brush, as the fibers are the closest to the natural texture of the hair and less like to cause damage as compared to regular combs and brushes. However for best results comb though with a wide tooth comb first before using the boar bristle brush. Another tip would be to use leave in conditioners to soften, moisten and detangle hair. Using hair moisturizers are also important to keep the hair from drying out.
